Board Games: Part I (Puerto Rico)

I thought it would be fun to start a new blog label titled "Board Games".  Basically, I will feature a fun board game and encourage "The Benson's Blog" nation to play it. My entire life, I've always enjoyed playing board games.  Some of my favorite games growing up include Monopoly, Trump and Sweet Valley High.  I'm not sure if the hubby actually likes board games but he does play with me.  FYI - this anonymous conversation was actually us.

Now for the first featured game...drum roll...

Puerto Rico is a 3 - 5 player game but there is an official variant to the game for 2 players, so that's what we play since Elijah doesn't follow the rules and would eat the doubloons and colonists.  The goal of the game is to collect the most victory points.  It sound extremely nerdy - doubloons, colonists, victory points, captain phase, etc.  It's a fun, strategic game but requires lots of reading of the rules (thank goodness for the hubby because I don't read rules).  I like it because it requires strategy but not too much  Try it, it's a fun game
